Garden party nostalgia: shot on film in Gippsland

Haley and Joel’s Stony Creek wedding was effortless elegance meets personal charm. Set on Joel’s family farm, the day unfolded like a refined garden party, with thoughtful touches woven throughout.

Haley’s off-shoulder gown was timeless, while her bridesmaids brought a soft lemon pop of colour. Subtle blues and lush hydrangeas complemented the landscape, creating a cohesive, understated palette. A tiramisu dessert tower stole the show, and the celebration carried on late into the night on the dance floor.

Captured beautifully by Ivory Tribe favourite Kinship by Kristy, every moment of this unforgettable day shines through her lens.

The meeting.

We met in 2011 at the Alberton Grand Final; Haley had just won a premiership.

The one.

We both are huge sport lovers (Haley likes cricket so it was a no brainer) and our values highly align.

We have been together for 12 years, since high school.

The proposal.

A weekend away in Daylesford.

Planning process.

We have Her Moon and Stars to thank for this one. Ry is an absolute legend; she did all the planning and styling. She made the process so easy!

Style inspiration.

Subtle blues, garden party style

It was also helpful to see pictures and videos from real weddings, where we could see vendors tagged and find further inspiration.

The ceremony.

Having it on Joel’s families farm, with a view of Dumbalk Hills in the background. Our vows were also very special to us.

The outfits.

Haley went to four bridal boutiques and didn’t quite find the one, so she had her dress made through Elissa Marie Designs. She was brilliant and so easy to work with. She is amazing at what she does!

Joel got his suit from MJ Bale.

Favourite moment.

Our favourite moment was having all our special people in the one place and the dance floor.

Meaning of marriage.

A commitment and spending the rest of our lives together.

Wedding soundtrack.

All songs were played by Little Wolf Entertainment

Aisle song: Lucky Me – Jack Miller

Reception Entry: Gimme Gimme Gimee – Sgt Slick

First Dance: A Thousand Years – Christina Perri

Planning surprises.

Just how much planning goes into it. It’s a lot!

Words of wisdom.

Hire someone to help you plan and organise it, it made it much more stress free leading up to and on the day.
