Real Wedding – Janelle & Joel, Coldstream VIC

Think you need a good 18-months to plan your dream wedding? Not true! Janelle and Joel pulled off the party of a lifetime, in just four months.

Janelle knew exactly which designer she wanted to create her gorgeous gown and she was a vision as she walked down the aisle. It was this moment that would become an absolute favourite for them both, knowing they were about to commit to each other for a lifetime.

Set at the ever-stunning Stones of The Yarra Valley, this sweet pair chose a relaxed-boho vibe for their festivities and had one of our Tribe favourite photographers, Rick Liston, there to capture all the magic.

In Janelle’s words…

The meeting.

Met at Perisher through a mutual friend in 2012

The ‘one’.

When I realised he could cook and dance.

The proposal.

He got down on one knee as we watched a beautiful sunset on a cliff in Oia, Santorini.

The process.

Quick, we planned it in 4 months!

Style inspiration.

Relaxed bohemian.

The gown.

I fell in love with the designer and so when we decided to get married in four months she was the first and only person I called as I had complete confidence in her and her work. Such a dream to work with.

Favourite moments.

Walking down the aisle with my dad as I stared towards my future.

Meaning of marriage.

A commitment to build a life together through the thick and thin.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: You are the reason by Calum Scott (played and sung by a pianist)

Reception entry: One dance by Drake (played by a live band)

First dance: Love someone by Lukas Graham (played by a live band)

Words of wisdom.

Don’t place or let the pressure of it needing to be the best day of your life. It will be a beautiful day of many more to come. And use a spreadsheet!

Last words.

This was a mini destination wedding as the majority of our guests are from Sydney. This meant we spent quality time with many of our loved ones on either side of our wedding day which we really enjoyed.
