Real Wedding – Rosie & Brendon, North Melbourne VIC
Laurens Hall in North Melbourne is where Rosie walked down the aisle in a stunning Suzanne Harward gown, to meet her husband-to-be Brendon and their beautiful babe Billie.
There was no shortage of love during Rosie and Brendon’s wedding day, despite taking a ‘less is more’ approach; green and white floral’s turned this industrial style venue into a wedding wonderland.
Photo-genius, Tess Follett was there to capture it all on camera.
In Rosie’s words…
The meeting.
We met seven years ago through mutual friends and welcomed our beautiful daughter Billie in to the world last March.
The one.
We went through a few big life events in the first few months of our relationship so I think we knew pretty early on we could get through a lot together.
The proposal.
Brendon proposed in the local dog park not long before our daughter was born. Which sounds very unromantic but it was very us. A bit of a laugh and we had our whole family there; our 2 dogs and our unborn daughter.
The planning.
We had a very relaxed approach to planning our wedding. Having a young baby meant we didn’t want to stress ourselves out too much. We had everything well organised in advance so it was only the few weeks before that we had to run around a bit.
Style inspiration.
As the venue is quite industrial we wanted to the styling to be quite modern. We very much went with the “less is more” approach in terms of styling. Green and white florals and minimal clutter on the tables. We had a beautiful white and green floral installation which really brought it all together.
The dress.
I had a lace strapless Suzanne Harward gown. It was the only place I went to and it wasn’t long after I’d just had a baby, so I had it altered closer to the date. It was classic but the lace had a bit of a modern edge.
Favourite moment(s).
I think just having all those people that we love in one room was a pretty surreal feeling.
Traditions.
Cutting the cake and throwing the bouquet.
The meaning of marriage.
Marriage to us means committing to a partnership for the rest of our lives. Promising to support each other in all that we do and loving each other and our family unconditionally.

Words of wisdom.
Take a relaxed approach. Give yourself time by organising things in advance and doing little bits at a time. It only has to be stressful if you make it. And if something goes wrong on the day, it really doesn’t matter!
If you love an inner city wedding then Katherine and Mathew’s wedding is a must see.
