Real Wedding – Samantha & Anthony, Ripponlea VIC

Samantha and Anthony’s wedding day soiree radiates style, elegance and effortless beauty. Set against the timeless glamour of one of our favourite Melbourne venues, Quat Quatta, this is one exquisite affair. Beginning in stunning garden surrounds before moving into the grandly gorgeous interior, every moment is aesthetically epic.

Samantha chose a chic, slinky gown in softly textured silk by Hera Couture from Bluebell Bridal, creating a striking silhouette when paired with her handsome husband in his sharp tux. Crisp white styling enhances the classic decor of the venue to perfection, while bridesmaids in a soft butter hue add a gentle juxtaposition. White-on-white florals create textured layers, artfully framing the ceremony.

Kicking off the party feels was our friend, celebrant wordsmith Marry Me Tee, telling Anthony and Samatha’s love story with her signature essence of warmth and light-hearted feeling.

Scroll on to see it all unfold through the gorgeous lens of Evia Zachariah Photography.

The meeting.

We met seven years ago on a bus to Oktoberfest in Germany.

The proposal.

On a very rainy morning, Anthony asked me to go for a hike with him to see the sunrise. The cloud cover blocked the sunrise, and the ground was so muddy I thought I would face plant. But somehow, he still made the proposal perfect.

Planning process.

It was fun! I love the planning process. It helps when all the suppliers are absolutely amazing.

Inspiration via real weddings was certainly the biggest help in planning the wedding. Seeing what suppliers others used at our venue was also super helpful when picking. But really going to weddings was always so helpful, it always highlights what you want and don’t want and what you both think is most important.

Style inspiration.

Classic, timeless, and we wanted it to feel like us; we didn’t want to feel like we were playing dress up.

The ceremony.

Our ceremony was very short. We really just really wanted to be able to stand up in front of our friends and family and show our love story.

The looks.

I think I tried on every dress in Melbourne and every style. It wasn’t until I looked back at what I had loved prior to planning a wedding that I realised I wanted simple and classic. Anthony looks amazing in a tux, so there were no issues in finding the one for him.

Favourite moments.

Seeing each other for the first time was pure happiness. But sitting down at the bridal table and witnessing all your loved ones in the room with you is truly so special.

Meaning of marriage.

Commitment, communication and endless fun.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Latch by Sam Smith

Reception entry: Friends theme song

Words of wisdom.

Enjoy every moment of the planning. The little details don’t matter and won’t matter on the day. So many people said this to us in the lead-up, and we really took it on board. It really helped make the entire thing purely exciting and not stressful.

As Samantha and Anthony attest, planning your celebration IS so much easier when your suppliers are amazing. So, to build your own wedding day dream team, chose from our incredible vendors, all here on our directory.
