Spring’s arrival brings a flourish of vibrant blooms and fresh inspiration for wedding styles, and of course, this includes florals.

We had the pleasure of connecting with Erin of Florette to explore the season’s most compelling styles, colours, and innovations to bring you the most current and on-point mood board inspiration for your wedding day florals.

Textural emphasis and pastel hues.

This spring, two dominant colour trends are making waves. The first is an ultra-modern spin on the classic green and white palette. “Couples are leaning towards interesting textures and flowers with clean lines, giving a fresh, contemporary feel,” shares Erin.

The second trend embraces the idyllic freshness of muted pastels. Cottage-style blooms and sherbet colour blocking create whimsical, romantic garden feels across a range of venue backdrops, perfectly mirroring the subtle, uplifting spirit of spring.

Dream design: Erin’s ideal Spring Wedding

Given carte blanche to design a spring wedding, Erin’s vision is nothing short of spectacular. “I would absolutely create a theme called ‘A Modern Moody Spring Fling,'” she enthuses. Picture a palette of dark purples, rich burgundies, deep greens, and soft blacks accented by pearly whites and chrome features. Think fabric draping and an abundance of fleeting spring blooms like lilac, hellebores, sweet pea, ranunculus, waratah, calla lily, and hyacinth.

Erin’s dream ceremony would resemble a blooming meadow with large, ground-based arrangements, while the reception would evoke a romantic renaissance. “I’d fill the tables with themed flowers, textured linen, drapery features, and candles—so many candles,” she describes, painting a picture of dappled light, dreamy moments and idyllic atmosphere.

An artful approach.

This season, Erin has observed a delightful trend that’s gaining popularity: the incorporation of fruits and vegetables into floral arrangements. “While not entirely new, this trend is becoming increasingly artistic,” Erin explains.

Designers are pushing creative boundaries, transforming floral arrangements into pieces of fine art. This innovative approach adds an unexpected, playful element to wedding decor, allowing couples to weave in their own personal loves and tastes and create an overall vision reflective of their signature style and personalities without becoming cliché or kitsch.
