Hundreds of fabric swatches, a stylist who’s seen every body shape, and a conversation that ends with a garment cut to one set of measurements.
InStitchu has been running that appointment since 2011, when two schoolmates started the label on a simple premise: properly fitted suits for all bodies, without the fortune. Fifteen years and 200,000-odd customers later, they’re doing it from eleven showrooms around the country.
Choose from hundreds of fabrics, including Woolmark-certified Australian merino, lightweight linens and cottons across every weight and weave, then specify lapels, buttons, linings and monogramming. The range covers suits, tuxedos, shirts, overcoats and accessories, and it runs across both men’s and women’s tailoring, so a bride in a suit or a woman standing up in the wedding party is as well served as the groom.
Everything is made to measure and covered by their Perfect Fit Guarantee, which means alterations are handled without extra cost. With showrooms in Melbourne (Collins Street and Armadale), Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, plus saved measurements for ordering online afterwards, a wedding party spread across several cities can each be fitted locally and still arrive in matching suiting.
A dedicated wedding stylist guides the whole party through it, and group bookings attract up to 25% off wedding tailoring. Current packages give a sense of the range, with a two-piece custom suit and two tailored shirts sitting around $899, and a tuxedo package with shirt, bow tie and cufflinks around $850. They’ve also collaborated with Vera Wang Bride on a tuxedo capsule, and ship worldwide.
“We had an amazing experience with Institchu. Erin looked after us across multiple appointments and made the whole process easy and enjoyable. She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and attentive to every detail.
The suits for me as the groom and all of my groomsmen turned out perfectly—they fit exceptionally well and look fantastic. We couldn’t be happier with the quality and service. Thanks again, Erin, for helping us look our best for the big day! Highly recommend.”
