Mewburn Park Homestead, 2.5hrs east of Melbourne, is a 400-acre private property and working farm offering a beautiful colonial Homestead and historic Stables.

Located in the heart of Gippsland’s food and wine region and tucked behind an oak tree lined driveway, the sanctuary of Mewburn Park has lush gardens, tranquil walkways and ponds that ooze serenity.

The homestead is wrapped with a huge veranda, taking you back to the glorious 1920’s, while the servant’s quarters take you back even further to the colonial 1850’s. What adds to the charm of this property are their simply stunning historic stables, full of rustic textures and character. Both create the perfect backdrop for photo opportunities.

At the same time, they offer a marquee fully equipped with everything you need. From wooden trestle tables and chairs, outdoor bar furniture, festoon lights, bar, concrete flooring and decking, and electricity for your music/entertainment. Take in the farm charm that surrounds you, along with the stars above and celebrate the night away in the open air.

Accommodation.

There is onsite accommodation for the couple and their bridal party with the added advantage of a bridal suite that will take you back in time so you can enjoy the Homestead and its heritage. The renovated double room is the perfect place to stay calm and get ready in style before you say, “I do”. Enjoy some bubbles pre-ceremony and/or sleep over the night.

Eliminate the need for your guests to travel between your ceremony and reception by hosting both at Mewburn Park Homestead – one perfect location for ceremony, photographs and reception.

Cost: Venue hire for your ceremony only starts from $3000. The premium luxe package for ceremony and reception starts from $6,500. In addition to this, they operate a beverage package to make sure everyone is pampered through the day and night, ensuring a relaxed wedding day.

Size of venue: Mewburn Park is licensed for 130 guests with the option to apply for an extension (fees apply). Minimum booking (due to the size of the property) is 50 guests.

Indoors/outdoors: Yes, Mewburn Park have various spots in the gardens or old brick stables for an outdoor ceremony.  If the weather is not in your favour they have a Farmers Shed, which is a huge space to keep everyone comfortable and dry.

Distance from Melbourne: 2 hours and 30 minutes from Melbourne CBD.
