Wedding day accessories with BIANKO

When we came across Australian fashion brand BIANKO we fell in love with their luxurious jewellery pieces – not only fun and affordable, but eco-friendly, sustainable and an eye-catching addition to a wedding day ensemble.

With a family history in the jewellery industry spanning over 30 years, BIANKO founder Belinda Madonini has always felt at home in the world of luxury jewellery and design, and has recently expanded the brand’s daywear range into a bridal offering.

BIANKO’s latest collection is Fleur, the perfect blend of modern sophistication with femme florals, allowing a bride and her wedding party to add the finishing touches to their outfit and elevate their wedding day look to the next level.

We wanted to know more about BIANKO and their design process, so we sat down with founder Belinda Madonini and got to delve a little deeper into what we know is about to become a firm favourite when it comes to incredible event accessories.

Perfect pieces for the bride-to-be or her wedding party, BIANKO is everyday luxury for the modern woman.

With a family history in the jewellery industry spanning over 30 years, BIANKO founder Belinda Madonini has always felt at home in the world of luxury jewellery and design, and has recently expanded the brand’s daywear range into a bridal offering, can you tell us about the move into the bridal collection?

The move into creating a bridal collection came about when planning my own wedding and organising accessories for myself and my bridesmaids to wear on the day. I wanted to thank my bridesmaids by giving them something special, but making sure they would get to enjoy the pieces long after the event. This lead me to design a capsule of statement/party earrings with each of my bridesmaids in mind. I knew some of the girls preferred longer, more dramatic styles and others, with more conservative personalities, preferred shorter and light-weight designs.

We love an Aussie-owned product, we know this is at the heart of the BIANKO brand, what other considerations go into the crafting of your pieces?

Ethical and sustainable processes are at the forefront of my operations. In every way possible, I aim for fair and equal treatment of every person working along the supply chain and simultaneously, to lessen our carbon footprint in both our manufacturing and delivery processes. Our workshop is SEDEX certified, our packaging is eco friendly, boxes biodegradable, satchel compostable, we recycle materials when possible and we only produce to meet demand (to minimise waste).

When it comes to wedding day accessories, what can brides expect from the new Fleur Collection?

Fleur is a blend of modern sophistication with femme florals. It is both feminine and statement, with a balance of fashion-forward and classic design. I have used freshwater pearls to add subtle highlights and each piece has been brought to life with a 3D effect to give impact. Fleur is not your traditional bridal collection but it’s an exploration of luxury and femininity; designed to make a bride feel she is wearing jewellery just as special as she is.

We understand that while the Fleur range is made with wedding parties in mind, we love that the pieces can be worn time and time again – was this a driving force behind the collection?

Weddings are expensive! And by creating designs that weren’t limited to bridal looks mean that they can be worn and enjoyed beyond one day, getting more value for money.

How are the pieces made and what materials are used?

Every piece from our Fleur collection is created from solid 925 Sterling silver and plated in 18k yellow gold. I chose to add a sandblast finish to soften to look and add a slight vintage feel.

What bridal fashion trends are you loving at the moment and what do you expect we might be seeing more of?

I am loving the unique and individual looks that brides are going for these days. Mini dresses, accentuated bows, pant suits, and non-traditional dresses in colours other than white/ivory. Fun, bold and playful jewellery to match the mood and mixed bridal party looks also seems to be the current trend.
