Somewhere around eleven o’clock, your friend will pick up the phone and say something you’ll be quoting at every anniversary for the next thirty years. That’s the whole idea behind Off The Hook: a retro handset that records voice messages from your guests, hired Australia-wide, and used by more than 7,000 couples around the country.
It works in three steps.
They leave a message after the beep.
Guests pick up the phone and hear a greeting you’ve recorded yourself.
Then, within 48 hours of the phone making it back, you receive an online gallery of every message, as mp3 audio files and as personalised audio-image videos carrying your names and a photo of your choosing.
The phone runs on an internal rechargeable battery with 50-plus hours of charge and 100-plus hours of recording capacity, so there’s no cord or power bank sitting in the middle of styling you’ve spent months on, and it can happily live near the dancefloor if that’s where everyone is. Setup is a single ON button. There are ten colours to match your palette, and it arrives with acrylic “leave a message” signage.
Hire runs seven days as standard, with guaranteed delivery at least three days before the wedding and three days afterwards to post it back in the prepaid satchel. Express shipping both ways is included, metro or rural, along with the greeting, signage and gallery, with nothing bolted on afterwards.
Add a custom vinyl record or USB box if you’d like the messages in something you can hold, and there’s a virtual guest book option as well. They’re Australian-made, with phone support seven days a week.
“We used Off The Hook for our wedding and honestly, we’re SO glad we did. We ummed and ahhed about whether people would actually use it, but it ended up being one of our favourite little additions. Listening back to the voicemails over the weeks after the event was so special – some were incredibly sweet, others absolutely hilarious and chaotic. We’ll treasure them forever. Seamless delivery and easy to set up. Recommend!”
