Set among the vines of Zonzo Estate in the Yarra Valley, Holly and Josh’s wedding was a thoughtful celebration of timeless style, meaningful moments and the people who made the day so special.
Bringing a touch of old Hollywood glamour, Holly looked incredible in her off-shoulder gown as she walked down the aisle surrounded by her bridesmaids in vibrant yellow, with Josh waiting to see her for the first time. The ceremony setting was elevated by the beautiful floral work of Sugarbee Flowers, with soft pastel bouquets and statement pillars adding colour and texture while complementing the natural beauty of the venue.
With communication at the heart of their planning journey, Holly and Josh worked closely with their team to create a celebration that felt effortless and true to them. From the styling details through to the entertainment by Melbourne Entertainment Co and PaperHeart, every element came together to create a day that flowed seamlessly.
Of course, not every unforgettable moment is one you can plan. During their first dance, the music unexpectedly cut out – but instead of a moment of panic, their guests joined in, singing along to Bruno Mars as Holly and Josh continued dancing. What could have been a disaster became one of the most joyful and memorable moments of the day.
Captured by Perla Photography, their golden hour portraits are a beautiful reflection of the warmth and happiness that filled their celebration.
We met on a dating app and had our first date walking along the Maribyrnong River. From the very beginning, conversation came so naturally, and we instantly felt comfortable around each other. We ended up enjoying the date so much that neither of us wanted it to end, so we randomly decided to go grocery shopping together just to keep spending time together. Looking back now, it’s funny how something so simple ended up being such a memorable start to our relationship.
There wasn’t one exact moment – it was more the feeling we had whenever we were together. Everything felt easy, natural and exciting all at once. We could spend hours talking, laughing and doing the most ordinary things together and still have the best time. Very early on, we both realised we had found someone who truly felt like home.
Every year we go glamping in Daylesford at Cozy Tents, so it has always been a really special place for us. In 2025 we continued the tradition, but this time my cousin secretly organised the tent with flowers, candles and photos of all our favourite memories together. When we arrived, Holly walked into the tent completely surprised and emotional, seeing everything set up so beautifully. In that moment, surrounded by all those memories, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me.
Honestly, the planning process was a lot smoother than we expected. We worked really well together and naturally took on different roles throughout the process. I handled a lot of the vendor communication, research and logistics, while Holly brought the creative vision and styling ideas to life. Even though wedding planning can definitely become overwhelming at times, we always approached it as a team and made sure to enjoy the process together.
We really wanted the wedding to feel modern, colourful, and elegant while still capturing a fun party atmosphere. Holly’s creativity played a huge role in shaping the overall style, from the colour palettes to the little details throughout the day. Since many of our guests were younger and love a good celebration, we wanted the wedding to feel vibrant, energetic and full of personality while still keeping a timeless feel.
Our ceremony at the Zonzo Estate Chapel felt absolutely magical. Walking into the chapel and seeing all our family and friends there to celebrate with us was such a surreal feeling. The moment Holly walked down the aisle was incredibly emotional, and hearing our vows in front of everyone we love made the ceremony feel so intimate and meaningful. Between the flowers, the atmosphere and all the emotions of the day, it’s a moment we’ll never forget.
We wanted our outfits to feel modern, timeless and true to our personalities. Holly looked absolutely stunning in a dress that was elegant, classy and beautifully highlighted her shoulders. She spent a lot of time visiting bridal boutiques with her family and bridesmaids before finally finding the perfect dress. Seeing everything come together on the day made all the searching completely worth it.
It’s honestly so hard to choose just one favourite moment because the entire day felt so special. For me, the ceremony and vows stand out the most because of how emotional and meaningful they were. Holly absolutely loved our first dance, surrounded by all our family and friends. You can read below why it became one of our favourite moments, because what could have been a disaster absolutely wasn’t!
Marriage means having complete trust, unconditional love and a true partnership with each other. It’s about growing together through every stage of life and always choosing one another no matter what.
Aisle – POV by Ariana Grande (Violin Cover)
Reception Entry – Sugar by Maroon 5
First Dance – Treasure by Bruno Mars
The funniest moment was definitely during our first dance when the song suddenly stopped halfway through. Without missing a beat, all our friends and family started singing the lyrics to Treasure by Bruno Mars while we kept dancing. What could have been a disaster ended up becoming one of the most unforgettable and special moments of the entire night.
Nothing really surprised us too much because we communicated well and worked together throughout the whole process. The biggest thing was probably just how exhausting wedding planning can become toward the end, especially balancing normal life with finalising all the little details.
Be patient with each other, enjoy the process and try not to stress too much over the small details. The day goes by so quickly, so the most important thing is soaking in every moment together and celebrating with the people you love.
We feel incredibly grateful to have celebrated such a special day surrounded by all the people we love most. It truly was the happiest and most unforgettable day of our lives, and we’ll cherish those memories forever.
