Jo & Adrian’s Tuscan-inspired wedding at Euroa Butter Factory

When Jo and Adrian’s wedding day advice is “try not to leave each other’s side,” you know it’s going to be a day centred on love and all the things a wedding is truly about.

The Euroa Butter Factory set the scene for this stunning day, with the couple drawn to its Tuscan-inspired charm and the relaxed elegance of country Victoria.

The ceremony unfolded beneath a grand tree, framed by heritage brick and blooming spring flowers, while Style-ish podcast host Jo glowed in a custom Mia Atelier gown with a lace-trimmed crossover bust, sweeping train, and a veil that mirrored every intricate detail.

Peaches were scattered across the tablescape, alongside figs from the couple’s own garden, complemented by chocolate brown stationery and napery, blending natural beauty with refined styling by The Nuptial Collective.

Live music by our talented friends at Paper Hearts, intimate family moments, and thoughtful curated touches – from sun-safe favours (because, of course!) to infused olive oil – ensured every guest felt considered and celebrated.

Captured beautifully by photographer Merve Togan, this day was a reflection of Jo and Adrian themselves: warm, stylish, and utterly in love.

The meeting.

Adrian and I actually met on Hinge at the end of 2021 – he was house-sitting for a friend at the time that we matched, which is the only reason our radiuses crossed. The prompt from my profile that landed him in my matches was, “we’ll get along if… you have a skincare routine.”

The one.

Adrian: There wasn’t one lightning-bolt moment; it was a build-up. The way my feelings grew stronger and more certain. Watching her love for me flourish. Seeing our families embrace each other. A stand-out moment was our Europe trip in July/August 2023. I found myself crying tears of joy at dinner in Lake Como, overwhelmed by love and happiness, while Jo laughed at me. I knew then, she was the one.

Jo’s words: They say actions speak louder than words, which really stood out to me in the early days of dating Adrian and solidified for me that he was the one. He showed me (and told me) how much he cared for me. He always prioritises me, even in the smallest ways.

The proposal.

Adrian’s words: I proposed to Jo on December 7th, 2024. We had a very casual weekend planned at my parents’ lakehouse at Lake Eildon, and unbeknownst to Jo, I’d also booked an Airbnb next door to my parents’ holiday house where my family and Jo’s family would wait to celebrate after the proposal.

At 11:30am that morning, the clouds cleared, and the sun came out. I saw my moment.

I ushered Jo onto the barge (boat) in boardshorts and a tee, with nicer clothes and the ring hidden in the esky next to a bottle of Moët. Out in the middle of the lake, I changed into the nicer clothes and set up the camera behind her, took a deep breath and proposed. She obviously said ‘yes’.

I told her we had a lunch booked at a nearby winery and we could call everyone there. We got ready, and on the way, I turned into the neighbour’s house, where both our families were waiting to celebrate and surprise her again.

Jo’s words: I was completely thrown off the scent of any suspicion, as one of my girlfriends who I’d told Adrian to utilise for any ring-related questions, insinuated a few days before the Eildon trip that the process hadn’t even begun. So, I was thinking a proposal was months away – we’d had conversations about getting engaged, so I knew it would happen at some point. That meant I didn’t pack any nice outfits, get my nails done or bring my makeup bag, but it was the perfect proposal.

The planning.

Given I’m really not a big wedding girl, I was lucky to have the help of my amazing friend Olivia from The Nuptial Collective, who made sure I was across everything important.

We had inquired with a couple of venues in Melbourne in the weeks after we got engaged, and everywhere was booked out until March of 2026. That’s when Olivia suggested the Euroa Butter Factory. We hadn’t even considered getting married outside of Melbourne, but they had one date left for 2025, and we booked it without even seeing the venue – we of course toured it later and loved it, thankfully!

I was a very decisive bride, didn’t linger on the tiny details and really trusted Olivia’s judgement.

Style inspiration.

The Euroa Butter Factory gives Tuscan vibes, paired with the laidback nature of country Victoria. The venue itself and the surrounding grounds are incredibly beautiful in their own right. Of course, it was important to us that our wedding was beautiful, but most of all that our guests had a really fun time. Anyone who knows me knows how much I talk about colour analysis, so no surprise that our stationery and tableware was chocolate brown!

I found it super helpful seeing other weddings at our specific venue, and very similar venues, as I could envision what was possible and also what would ‘suit’ the backdrop of our day. Olivia was also invaluable as she’s overseen the planning and styling of so many beautiful weddings; I could pick her brain.

The ceremony.

Our ceremony was held under a big tree on the grounds of the venue, with the old heritage brick butter factory in the background, surrounded by blooming spring flowers and butterflies. Adrian’s parents walked him down the aisle, followed by my nieces and nephew, then by me with my dad, Jon.

I walked down the aisle to One & Only by Adele, sung live by Elliot Music. This was the most surreal part of the day. Looking into Adrian’s eyes and realising we were living one of the most important moments we’ll ever share together, right in that moment, accompanied by everyone we love in the one place.

The outfits.

After trying on a couple of dresses, I knew I was going to have to go down the custom route, and I was keen to work with a talented designer that was collaborative, which is how I landed on Mia Atelier. We actually ended up modelling the bust of my dress off a bra we both saw online – it has a little bit of lace peeking out and a cross over detail over the bust. We then did a drop waist and quite a big skirt with a generous train. The lace trim on my veil, which Mia also made, matches the lace peeking out of the bust of my dress.

I secured my second look for our reception, maybe three weeks out from the big day. Raffaele Ciuca in Brunswick had this beautiful halter neck Eva Lendel gown with a rose detail on the front, and I fell in love with it when I tried it on. I was so relieved to change out of the corset into something flowy to enjoy the dancefloor.

Favourite moment.

Jo: Probably holding Adrian’s hands once I got to the end of the aisle. And also, being on the dancefloor with our nearest and dearest and watching our loved ones enjoying themselves.

Adrian: I loved watching Jo walk down the aisle, and sitting down at dinner looking around the venue seeing everyone there to celebrate us.

Meaning of marriage.

Jo and Adrian: Marriage means having unconditional love, commitment, support and respect for one another.

Wedding soundtrack.

Funny stories (or near disasters).

We left Adrian’s asthma puffer at home by accident, so we were awake with him experiencing thunderstorm asthma almost the whole night before (not ideal).

Luckily my makeup artist Sophia checked for latex allergies before applying false lashes to my mother-in-law, otherwise she would have had swollen closed eyes for our wedding! Very, very, close call.

We hired an Etsy witch for good weather, and she came through, despite torrential rain the night before.

Planning surprises.

I think every bride would say they’re shocked by the cost. You start with a budget in mind, and that pretty much ends up out the window. Everything is so damn expensive. In saying that, though, I don’t regret a single dollar we spent because we had the best day ever.

Words of wisdom.

Don’t forget the ‘why’. In moments of stress, you might get frustrated with each other, but always remind yourself of the reason you’re getting married. Because you love each other, you want to spend your lives together, and you want to celebrate with your family and friends. The wedding itself is a small blip in the whole scope of your lives.

Enjoy every moment because the time flies, and on the day, try not to leave each other’s side.

Final words.

As part of our table settings, we brought our own figs from our front garden at home, which brought a really special and personal element to every table without guests even knowing.

Anyone who knows me knows I am a sun-safe girl, so it made sense to supply every guest with an Airyday sunscreen and an infused extra virgin olive oil from Grampians Olive Co, as Adrian loves cooking and famously makes all my meals. So many guests commented that they loved these details as they were very practical favours.

See Jo’s Airyday sunscreen favours in detail, here.

We elected not to have a wedding party, which was a great decision for us. It meant our time having photos taken was spent alone, aside from our team capturing content, and we didn’t have the stress of trying to organise anybody else
