Real Wedding – Vinita & Issac, Yarra Glen VIC

When Vinita married her forever love Isaac – who she’d fallen for after a contemporary meet-cute courtesy of Tinder – she was wearing one of the first wedding dresses she ever pinned on her mood board.

The minimal mastery of the Kyha gown featured a draped, scooped neck corset and modern yet glamourous detachable sleeves that transformed into a chic, understated, dance-floor ready reception look when removed.

Rising to meet his bride in her high fashion moment, Isaac looked every bit the movie star in a custom-made cream tuxedo, designed to differentiate him from his equally dapper groomsmen, who donned stylish sets from suit experts InStitchu in contrasting black.

Weaved thoughtfully into the styling choices were pops of colour, playful typography and personalised details set seamlessly against the always-impressive backdrop of Zonzo Estate.

Musical triple threat KB from renowned entertainment agency Hey Jack elevated the already overjoyed atmosphere with his trifecta of talent as a pianist, vocalist and DJ and every magical moment was captured by one of the industry’s leading lens-wielding ladies, Kinship by Kristy. Experience it for yourself below.

The meeting.

We met in 2019. It was a classic meet-cute courtesy of Tinder. Isaac had just moved to Sydney and Vin (a Sydney local) knew all the hot food spots. Our first date was a long dinner at an Italian restaurant. It’s true what they say – when you know, you know.

The proposal.

We had sunset drinks on a quiet beach in Fiji. No one around. Just us two.

Planning process.

It was hectic as we didn’t hire a planner or stylist. We were doing things right until the day – our seating chart was printed and picked up on the day! But we tagged teamed to the very end. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Style inspiration.

We wanted something simple, sweet and an extension of us. Pops of color throughout (courtesy of our beautiful flower arrangements) to compliment the already beautiful Zonzo Estate. We found real weddings the most useful when looking for ideas.

The ceremony.

Our ceremony was held at Zonzo Estate’s sleek, light-filled chapel surrounded by beautiful natural landscape. We said our vows in front of 75 guests but it felt like we were the only ones there. Lots of ugly crying and tissues passed around throughout the crowd. We also surprised our mums during the ceremony, asking them to be our witnesses for the marriage certificate signing.

The outfits.

Isaac knew what he wanted before we were even engaged! He wore a custom-made tuxedo by local Melbourne menswear atelier Christian Kimber

I wore the “Salacea” gown by Kyha (part of their Chosen by Kyha collection). It was one of the first ever dresses pinned on my Pinterest board, paired with pointed satin kitten heels. To transform the dress into a second look, the sleeves were removed and I donned a pair of white ballet pumps and a silk neck scarf made by my mum.

Favourite moment.

Our first dance. After we entered the reception space, we led the crowd outside where they formed a circle around us under the warm afternoon sun.

Meaning of marriage.

A lifetime of companionship. A commitment to loving and supporting each other even on the hardest days.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Passionfruit (Piano Arrangement)- The Theorist

Aisle exit: I’m in love with you – The 1975

Reception entry: Father Stretch My Hand– Kanye West

First dance: Kiss Me – Kina Grannis

Funny stories/near disasters.

We have no official footage of the day because the groom and groomsman forgot the camera in the car! We also forgot to pack shoes for the morning after the wedding, so we had to head to the hotel breakfast buffet and all the way back home in (giant) hotel slippers.

Planning surprises.

Something you hear often is that guests will cancel at the last minute; even with this information in mind, we were still taken aback by the number of last-minute cancellations!

Words of wisdom.

Don’t compare your wedding to other weddings you see online. Your wedding will be perfect because it is your wedding!
