Designed and lovingly handcrafted in Melbourne, established designer Stephanie Kinsman draws from a wealth of experience as she extends her offering from custom made, couture wedding gowns to her first ready-to-wear bridal collection.
Landing in the bridal industry a decade ago after spending many years designing in mainstream fashion, Stephanie pairs her love for meticulous craftsmanship with her desire to help women step out of the shadows on their wedding day. She has done exactly that since she started her brand By Kinsman nearly six years ago.
Ever since, every gown lovingly created from the By Kinsman brand is done so from Stephanie’s Hawthorn-based Atelier.
“It is integral for my gowns to be handcrafted right here in Melbourne by myself. What I love most about bridal is being able to work with a client so closely and intimately, from design through to the moment she walks out the door with her dress bag in her hand. There is nothing more rewarding than the feeling that you have truly contributed to someones most special day,” she shares.
By Kinsman designs contemporary pieces for confident, fashion forward women who value quality and are seeking an intimate one on one experience in the lead up to their wedding day.
By Kinsman gowns are available to order in absolutely any size. The new collection is priced between $3,800-$7,800 and couture gowns range between $6,000-$15,000.
Pieces can be purchased online with worldwide delivery or through the Hawthorn Atelier, where clients receive a one on one experience with Stephanie herself.
‘Eunoia’, greek for a pure and well balanced mind and beautiful thinking, was the inspiration behind her 2022 collection, drawing from the strength of women today, celebrating their uniqueness, intelligence and differences. This strength is exquisitely balanced with the moodiness of being shot in a textural and enchanting garden landscape, intertwined with romantic white roses, mauve wisteria and perfumed jasmine, hinting at a botanical spring just blossomed.
Crafted in the finest European silks, heavily embroidered and appliqué floral laces, hints of ostrich feathers and sculpting crepes, this stunning collection is intricate, demure and daring, balancing structure and softness.
By Kinsman heavily remains a couture brand so this ready to wear collection is fully customisable and the bride can choose the elements she loves from each dress and create one of her own, as unique as she is.
