Luxe and romantic: European styling at Lancemore Milawa
A taste of High Country luxury, Lancemore Milawa provided the perfect backdrop for Emily and Dylan’s elegant celebration, where European-inspired styling met warm country hospitality.
Rich burgundy, chocolate brown and soft beige tones, layered with subtle greenery, created a timeless palette throughout the day. Jen and Lisa from Spare Pair brought the couple’s vision to life beautifully, with sculptural florals cascading through the ceremony and reception like works of art.
Emily looked effortlessly chic in a sleek strapless KYHA gown before changing into a playful off-the-shoulder mini dress for the reception, while Dylan complemented the look in a classic black Institchu suit and bow tie. The bridesmaids added warmth and sophistication in chocolate brown.

When asked about their favourite moment, Emily and Dylan didn’t mention the styling or the speeches. Instead, it was stealing a few quiet moments together amidst the celebration – a simple reminder that, amongst all the excitement, it’s often the pauses that become the memories you treasure most.
The meeting.
We met at an engagement party around seven years ago when Dylan accidentally bumped into me, and from that moment it honestly felt like love at first sight. Funnily enough, we had shared mutual friends for years but had somehow never crossed paths before then. Looking back now, it truly feels like fate brought us together and that we were always meant to meet.
The one.
We clicked in so many ways! We are literally the same person. Whenever we were out together or having a few glasses of shiraz, we could talk for hours and never run out of things to say. We also shared the same values, goals and outlook on life, which made our connection feel even more special.
The proposal.
We travelled to Bali and stayed in Ubud for a holiday but unfortunately both ended up with Bali belly which completely knocked us around. While we were recovering and relaxing by the pool, Dylan told me he needed to quickly go back to our room to grab something. When he came back completely drenched in sweat, I genuinely thought he was still unwell. Instead, he surprised me with a ring and asked me to marry him. It was the most unexpected and special moment and truly made the entire trip unforgettable.
Planning process.
The planning process was such an exciting experience as it truly brought our vision to life. While there were naturally stressful moments, having Jen and Lisa from the Spare Pair guiding us through every detail made the entire process seamless and enjoyable.
Style inspiration.
Dylan and I envisioned a wedding that felt luxe, romantic and timeless. Inspired by European styling, we incorporated rich burgundy, chocolate brown and beige tones with subtle greenery throughout. Jen and Lisa from the Spare Pair brought our vision to life perfectly. They thought of every finer detail – we couldn’t have done it without them.
The outfit.
I visited around five different bridal boutiques during the search for my dress and honestly felt quite overwhelmed at first with the number of styles and options available. I always knew I wanted something timeless and romantic, and I kept gravitating towards princess-style gowns with structured corset detailing. The moment I tried on my dress, everything just clicked – it had the wow factor I had been searching for and fit like a glove.
Favourite moment.
Post-ceremony, Dylan and I took a quiet moment away from everyone to truly take it all in. After months of planning, it felt so special to pause and reflect on how magical the day has been so far. It was one of the few moments we could slow down and fully appreciate being surrounded by all out favourite people celebrating such an important moment in our life.
Meaning of marriage.
We both believe that marriage means partnership, loyalty and choosing each other every single day. It is about growing together through every stage of life, supporting one another and building a life filled with love, laughter and shared memories.
Wedding soundtrack.
All our music was played live by Becky from Between the Covers. She was amazing! We also got a saxophone player for our reception who absolutely brought the vibes!!

Try not to get caught up in making everything perfect! The day seriously goes by so quickly so take moments to slow down, be present and truly soak it all in – with a prosecco in hand of course!
Final words.
During the lead-up to the wedding we had an engagement photoshoot with our incredible photographer, Ellie. It ended up being one of the best decisions we made. We were both quite nervous about being in front of the camera. Ellie made us feel so comfortable and at ease, which gave us so much confidence for the wedding day itself. The photos turned out absolutely perfect, and we’ll treasure them forever. We are forever grateful for Ellie!
