Real Wedding – Annabel & Lauchlan, Jindera NSW
An exquisite example of contemporary chic meets country beauty; Annabel and Lauchlan’s wedding is all that and more. Under an expansive blue sky, against the backdrop of country New South Wales, these two uni sweethearts celebrated in epic style.
The look on Lauchlan’s face as he caught sight of gorgeous Annabel sums up the day; loved up bliss with a generous dose of cheeky fun. We love Annabel’s stunning gown by Kyha, with its simple mermaid skirt, modern bodice detailing and sleek lines. Styling details fit the theme, with crisp white furniture juxtaposed against rustic, raw textures, enhanced to perfection by floral arrangements of natural fibres, layers of vanilla, and sweet peach.
It was an inspired suggestion by epic photography and videography team Jackson Grant and Market Lane Media to pick a hilltop vista for sunset photos. The sense of fun and romance captured in these shots is most definitely one for the memory books. So to dive into a playful, stylish and fun-filled down, scroll on!
The meeting.
We met through mutual friends during our first year of uni living in Melbourne.
The ‘one’.
Probably on our first overseas trip together.
The proposal.
Lauch popped the question in Noosa; we were sitting on the beach having breakfast when he got down on one knee.
Planning process.
It felt like the planning process, and lead-up, went forever. Originally, we had planned the wedding for October, but COVID had other plans, so we rescheduled for March 2021. We are both so thankful for the support we had from Samantha, our wedding planner from Forethought Weddings. In the end, we got super lucky with the timing that we were able to have our wedding exactly how we wanted it to be. Also, we were lucky to have incredible vendors booked in early who were so good to us; they were super flexible and understanding.
Style inspiration.
Relaxed, fun, and a celebration was the brief. We kept it super simple; good people, food and music.
I found Pinterest and Instagram the most useful for finding inspiration, and it was helpful having Sam at our fingertips to discuss ideas.
The ceremony.
Our ceremony was held in Annabel’s parents garden on their property in Jindera, NSW. The location was such a significant part of the day, and somewhere we both love to get back to as often as possible.
We were incredibly lucky to have a close friend officiating the ceremony, a stunning day with the view behind us and of course, all of our friends and family there to witness our marriage. It was so special.
The look.
I did a lot of Instagram scrolling and tried on dresses at a few places but absolutely loved what I eventually chose from One Day Bridal – the Harris Gown. It’s such an elegant, simple design, and I was so comfortable in it.
Lauch was tossing up between a few suit options, but I was luckily able to covertly persuade him to go with the beige jacket, which I thought would really suit the bodice of my dress. The bowtie was Lauch’s touch, and it really suited the vibe of the day.
Favourite moments.
This is such a hard question! One of them was definitely the time we had together at sunset on top of the hill behind the property, something that our photographer Jackson Grant and videographer Alex Bingham had suggested to do. It was really nice to take a moment to ourselves and reflect on the ceremony.
Meaning of marriage.
Family!
Wedding soundtrack.
Aisle: I Get To Love You by Ruelle
Reception entry: Our good friend and DJ Tom Barnett was given free rein on this and, truthfully, I can’t remember the song, just the dancing!
First dance: I’m With You by Vance Joy
Funny stories or near disasters.
Our two-year-old having a meltdown wanting “DADDDY”.
Planning surprises.
The budget!
