Located within a historic 1870s bluestone building, this unique space has been meticulously restored and boasts sweeping cathedral ceilings, wine barrel-lined walls, and polished concrete flooring. The neutral tones have been purposely chosen to give our wedding couples the flexibility to establish their own personality and style on their big day.

ALL YOU NEED IN A WEDDING VENUE

The heritage-listed Paper Mill where Provenance calls home, is nestled in a cliff with picturesque views over Buckley Falls on the Barwon River.  They’re lucky to be the closest winery to Geelong, an easy 10 minutes’ drive from Geelong’s CBD and conveniently located just off the Geelong bypass (a 50-minute day trip from Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road).

The Paper Mill estate is a thriving arts and culture precinct and offers an array of unique photographic spots around the grounds, making wedding photography a breeze. The textures and charm of the old buildings, as well as green gardens and natural bush settings allow for a variety of beautiful photography options, all within a short walk from the winery.

Catering options.

The Provenance Wines wedding menu features delicious, locally sourced options designed to impress your guests and leave them completely satisfied.

Their talented kitchen team are well known for the quality of their cuisine.  They offer a large seasonal menu and cater for all dietary requirements with individual meals.  As part of their wedding planning service, Provenance invite couples in to enjoy a complimentary lunch in the restaurant, so they can rest assured they will be delighted with the quality and taste of the food for their reception.

Packages include cocktail, alternate drop, and the popular share-style menu.  Their Head Chef and his dedicated team are passionate about delivering quality and exceptional, fresh, modern-Australia cuisine which has been receiving rave reviews.

As a wedding reception venue, they love making life easy for their couples!  From the stunning grand Barrel Hall for receptions, a variety of onsite ceremony locations, award-winning food and wine, and photography locations close by on the estate – this talented local team prides itself on delivering personalised service, with attention to detail for every wedding they host.

Cost:

High season 2024 (Feb, March, April, Oct, Nov, Dec) cost per head starts at $215pp.

Mid season 2024 (Jan, May, Sept) cost per head starts at $195pp.

Low season 2024 (June, July, Aug) cost per head starts at $185pp

Pricing is all inclusive of venue hire, standard drink package and dining package. 2025/26 pricing available upon request.

Size of venue: A minimum of 70 guests (Friday wedding) or 100 guests (Saturday wedding), alternatively they can work to a minimum spend.

Indoors/outdoors: There is a variety of indoor or outdoor ceremony options, including a pretty outdoor alfresco area, rustic industrial winery and several locations within the grand Barrel Hall.  Provenance is also perfect for winter weddings with a gorgeous fireplace, roof heating and plenty of award-winning wine to keep your guest’s toasty! They offer couples a private Bridal Retreat room too, which allows them to take a moment, relax and enjoy a champagne before the reception begins.

WEDDING STYLES THAT SUIT THIS VENUE

In terms of styling, they are fortunate to have such a gorgeous space full of character and textures therefore many of their clients feel like they don’t need a lot of styling beyond their florals.  The rustic whitewashed bluestone walls and the grandeur of the sweeping, vaulted ceilings are simply stunning.  The polished concrete flooring and warm timber tones of the tabletops and bentwood chairs provide a natural palette for whatever the couples choose.

Provenance offer the option of crisp, white linen, but many couples love the natural timber tabletops.  Another lovely feature is the original crossbars of the ceiling lined with fairy lights and the barrels, full of wine, wrapping two sides of the room.

Beautiful natural light floods in from our skylights and numerous windows facing the Barwon River too.

The friendly Provenance event team will set and style the tables as per our couples’ instructions, holding a detailed planning meeting 6 weeks ahead of the wedding to run over all the fine details for the day.
